I've become much calmer since dropping cable several months ago and recently dropping Facebook. I no longer feel the need to comment or criticize other people's posts. I get my international news from Aljazeera. The American media model is to present snippets of news in a way that will evoke an emotional response, even if doing so will taint the truth of the report. I find Aljazeera tends to present a more balanced report, as US radio and television were required to do under the Fairness Doctrine; which was eliminated during President Reagan's tenure.
